The Billy Bag was born out of a saddlebag design and created by our company’s founder and namesake Billy Cook, when one of his favorite employees asked him to make a purse for her. She needed it to carry her leather crafting tools and personal belongings to and from work, and keep them easily accessible. A saddle bag is generally asymmetrical to fit around the back of a saddle seat, and has a flap to keep a cowboy’s gear from shaking loose. Billy adapted the design, creating a symmetrical pattern and removing the flap for an open top.
